Ear Molds for Hearing Instruments
Custom ear molds are required for some behind-the-ear (BTE) and receiver-in-the-ear (RITE) style hearing instruments. If ear molds are required for your hearing instruments, impressions will be taken of your ears. The impressions will be sent to an ear mold lab and used to custom design the ear molds for you. This process takes approximately two weeks.
Ear molds come in different materials and styles depending on the degree of hearing loss. They are also available in different colors.
Swim Plugs
Custom ear plugs for swimming can be made for people who need to be careful not to get water in their ears. A variety of colors are available. If you need customized ear plugs, impressions will be taken of your ears. Your audiologist will then ask if you have a color preference and then send them to an ear mold lab. It takes approximately two weeks to receive your swim plugs.
